The Camp

Each Day Camp session will focus on skill development for young soccer players.  Campers will learn soccer skills and techniques through exercises and games specifically designed for the young player.  Campers are encouraged to learn and develop at their own pace under the careful guidance of the director and his expert staff.  The emphasis is always on fun and learning!

The Day
Day Camps will run from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM on the University of Akron campus Monday - Thursday and 9:00 AM to Noon on Friday.  While the daily schedule will be slightly different depending on age, the basic daily format will be:

  • 8:30 AM - Drop Off
  • 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM - Morning Session, with snack break
  • 11:30 AM to 1:45 PM - Lunch / Pool
  • 1:45 PM to 3:45 PM - Afternoon Session
  • 4:00 PM - Pick Up

The Staff
Coach Embick has worked hard to bring together his staff of college and high school coaches, as well as many of Akron's top players. Your skills and overall playing ability will advance with the experience and knowledge of our coaching staff. Our coaches are known for the quality of their teaching.  Qualified Athletic Trainers are on duty at all times to handle any medical needs. All activities are carefully supervised. 


The Akron Soccer Day Camp provides an exceptional learning environment.  Fine training facilities, beautiful grass and multiple sports turf fields, session on First Energy Stadium Cub Cadet Field, InfoCision Stadium, Stile Athletics Field House and the Rec Center indoor gyms and swimming pool, all enhance the camp experience.

Campers will have the option of swimming each day after lunch, and each camper must pass a swim test on the first day with the University of Akron Lifeguards to swim in the deep end.  Swimming is not mandatory, although it is encouraged's fun!

The camp fee is $235 per session. 

 A reduced rate of $220 per Day Camp camper is available to :

  • University of Akron employees
  • Families enrolling more than one child 
  • Families enrolling one child for more than one week
  • Only 1 discount may be used per family
  • Discounts are NOT available for campers registering for the Little Stars program

Campers will bring their lunch from home every day, but we will provide a snack in the morning. For those with food allergies, please note that on your child's registration, and medical staff will confirm with you at check in as well.

Cancellation Policy
Those who cannot attend camp for medical or other reasons will be refunded all but a $50 administrative fee. To receive a refund the camp office must be notified at least 72 hours before camp begins. Refunds are not issued for any soccer related injury and/or illness occurred during camp.

Camp Ball
Each camper must have a soccer ball at camp. You can bring your own ball or purchase a hand-stitched Akron soccer ball from the camp for $35 paid in advance. Availability is limited. Please mark the appropriate box in the registration process for the correct size ball.  Sizing requirements may vary slightly depending upon local association, but generally a size 3 is used for ages 8 and under, size 4 for ages 8 to 12, and a size 5 for ages 12 and up.

Camp T-Shirt
Every player will receive a free camp t-shirt at registration. 

Little Stars
The little stars section of camp is a great way to expose boys and girls aged 4-6 to soccer in a fun and safe environment. Camp will run from 9-11 a.m. daily. The main objective is to introduce and teach basic soccer skills and concepts through exercises and games. The cost for a week of Little Stars camp is $120.00
